I watched the recent Senate Judiciary Committee hearings into both the nomination and the allegations against Judge Kavanaugh. I applaud the principled stance Senator Graham took in expressing support for Judge Kavanaugh and in exposing the shameful behavior and tactics of Senate Democrats. I was appalled by the treatment Judge Kavanaugh received from Democratic members during his time before the Senate Judiciary Committee. He was NOT treated with respect, he was not allowed to fully respond to mis-characterizations of his record and his positions were twisted for political purposes. The process by which allegations of sexual misconduct were handled was downright shameful and unfair to both Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh. Everyone lost in this process, individuals and families were harmed, lives damaged or destroyed and faith in our Government to manage complex and imporatant issues irreparably damaged. This is not the way the American people expect their business to be conducted by elected officials, especially US Senators. I wholeheartedly agree with Judge Kavanaugh that this process has been a national disgrace.


During his testimony into sexual assault allegations, Judge Kavanaugh’s emotions were more sincere, his facts more thorough and thought out, his testimony more compelling, his demeanor very much in line with his faith-based perspective and values. His words and facts in my mind were crystal clear and compelling and completely in keeping with his character as attested to by hundreds of friends, acquaintances and colleagues. To sit by and watch such an upright and trustworthy man, recognized broadly in so many quarters, who has served his community, his country and his fellow man with distinction be destroyed for petty political purposes would be unconscionable. It is my fervent hope that this good man be appointed to the Supreme Court where he will serve with distinction.
