While there are public funding options like “Go Fund Me” that we could establish, we do not wish to do so because that private entity keeps 10% of the charitable donations and current tax laws do not fully offset the funds donated, which discourages deep pocket donations. Even small donations can be “deep pocket” for struggling American patriots. In order to establish a multibillion-dollar fund, we are asking your office to work with congress to enact a legitimate tax-deductible fund into which Americans can contribute money. It is important that this fund give the donor a dollar for dollar deduction in order to encourage significant donations. The current “charitable deduction rules” in our IRS laws devalues the deduction via a formula. This is NOT what we want for this effort. Secondly, if a contractor or other organization wishes to donate labor, equipment or materials, to the work of building the wall, the value of the donation should also count. Wouldn’t the government appreciate a contractor providing a million dollars worth of concrete? As evidenced by your election, the people of this country appreciate your dedication and sacrifice, as well as that of your family, in order to become President of these United States and make America GREATER THAN SHE HAS EVER BEEN.
